Card Payment Security

Card payments at Custom Iron On Patches are processed by Stripe, one of the world’s most widely used payment processors. Stripe handles:

  • Card data encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+)
  • PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance (the highest level of card data security certification)
  • Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) under PSD2 regulations
  • 3D Secure 2 verification for card-not-present transactions
  • Fraud detection via Stripe Radar

Custom Iron On Patches does not store, process or transmit raw card data on its own servers. All card information is captured directly by Stripe’s secure payment infrastructure. The Custom Iron On Patches server only ever receives a tokenised reference to the customer’s payment, which cannot be used to recreate the original card details.

For full Stripe security documentation, see stripe.com/gb/security.

What This Means for Customers

  • Card details are entered into Stripe’s secure form, not into a Custom Iron On Patches database
  • Card numbers, CVV codes and expiry dates are never stored by Custom Iron On Patches
  • Refunds, partial refunds and disputes are handled directly through Stripe’s secure refund flow
  • Card data theft from a Custom Iron On Patches database is not technically possible because the data is never there to be stolen

PayPal Payment Security

PayPal payments are processed directly by PayPal under PayPal’s standard buyer and seller protections. PayPal account credentials are entered into PayPal’s secure system; Custom Iron On Patches never sees the customer’s PayPal password or full account details.

PayPal payments are eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection on qualifying purchases.

For full PayPal security documentation, see paypal.com/uk/security.

Apple Pay and Google Pay

Apple Pay and Google Pay payments are processed via Stripe using device-specific tokenisation. The actual card number is never transmitted during checkout, instead, a unique device-specific token is generated by Apple or Google and sent to Stripe for authorisation.

This means:

  • Card data is never visible to Custom Iron On Patches
  • Card data is never visible to Stripe in raw form
  • Authentication is handled by the customer’s device (Face ID, Touch ID, Android biometrics)
  • Fraudulent device-tokenised transactions are virtually impossible

Apple Pay and Google Pay are typically the most secure payment methods available for online card transactions.

BACS and Bank Transfer

BACS (Bankers’ Automated Clearing Services) is the standard UK bank transfer method, typically used for:

  • B2B orders requiring purchase order processing
  • Large orders where card processing fees would be prohibitive
  • Public sector orders against pro-forma invoices
  • Framework agreement billing

BACS payments arrive in the Custom Iron On Patches business bank account and are reconciled against the order before production begins. BACS payments are typically processed within 1-3 working days of submission.

For BACS payment, customers receive payment instructions on the pro-forma invoice including:

  • Bank name and sort code
  • Account number
  • Reference to use (typically the order number)
  • VAT and total amount due

Custom Iron On Patches does not provide bank account details on this page for security reasons. Banking information is provided directly on individual pro-forma invoices and quote confirmations.

B2B Payment Terms

B2B customers have additional payment options beyond standard B2C card and PayPal payments:

Pro-Forma Invoicing (Standard for B2B)

Pro-forma invoicing is the standard B2B payment model. The customer receives a pro-forma invoice after proof approval; payment is made by BACS or card before production begins. Pro-forma invoicing is available immediately on B2B account approval and does not require credit checking.

30-Day Account Terms (Subject to Approval)

30-day account terms are available for verified B2B accounts subject to credit approval.

Once approved, B2B accounts:

  • Receive a credit limit assigned at account setup
  • Place orders against an open account without per-order payment
  • Receive monthly statements detailing all activity
  • Settle accounts within 30 days of invoice date

30-day terms are typically extended to:

  • Public sector buyers (schools, NHS Trusts, councils, MoD, government bodies)
  • Established UK Ltd companies with positive credit history
  • B2B accounts with established trading history with Custom Iron On Patches

For B2B account application, see bulk and trade enquiries.

Framework Agreement Billing

Customers ordering through public sector procurement frameworks (Crown Commercial Service, NHS Supply Chain, YPO, ESPO, NEPO, LUPC) can be billed against framework-specific procurement processes including:

  • Purchase order matching
  • Framework reference inclusion on invoices
  • E-invoicing where required (PEPPOL, Tradeshift)
  • VAT reverse-charge handling
  • Procurement-compliant documentation

Framework billing is configured at account setup based on the relevant framework’s requirements.
